Liverpool Day - Thursday 7th April 2011

Thursday is Liverpool Day, and we’re celebrating the world’s biggest race meeting being in the world’s most unique city, with a full line up of Liverpool-inspired entertainment, sport and music running alongside top flight racing, including the aptly named BGC Liverpool Hurdle.

Our full entertainment schedule for Liverpool Day 2011 will be available to view here shortly, and it promises to be good. 2010 saw comedy in the form of Royle family star Ricky Tomlinson opening the meeting dressed as a jockey, Liverpool fashion as one stylish racegoer scooped a Boodles ring worth £8,000 and the unveiling of the very first Liverpool Day Hat, designed by Jean Ellis, whilst music live Liverpool Sound City bands played around the course throughout the day, including a special guest appearance by John Power from the Las and a headline closing set from the Bootleg Beatles!
