The Grand National at Aintree has been a British sporting institution since 1839, when a horse called Lottery won the first Grand National and Captain Becher parted company with his horse at a now famous brook

The Grand National is a race synonymous with a horse called Red Rum, the horse who captured the nation's hearts and was trained on the beaches of Southport and went on to win 3 Grand Nationals.

This years festival was 3 full days of stories and wonder and the highest quality jump racing in the UK. Starting with Liverpool Day on the 12th April, followed by Ladies Day on the 13th April and culminating with the worlds greatest steeplechase, the 2012 Grand National on Saturday the 14th April.
