tote a new partner for Aintree
The tote has become the official betting partner for the John Smith's Grand National meeting at Aintree - April 3 to 5, 2008.
The deal, which is for one year, with an option to extend the association for a further two years, will also involve the sponsorship of two races, the £160,000 totesport Bowl (Thursday, April 3 - 2.35pm) and the £60,000 totepool Handicap Chase (Friday, April 4 - 4.55pm). Through the sponsorship deal, totesport customers will also be entitled to a special admission offer for the National meeting.
Julian Thick, Managing Director of Aintree Racecourse, said: “Aintree has always had a terrific relationship with the tote and we are delighted to have them on board for the 2008 John Smith’s National meeting.
"The tote is already the main sponsor at our Becher Chase meeting in November and this new agreement strengthens the link between us.”
Trevor Beaumont, Chief Executive of the tote, commented: "As the biggest sponsor in British horseracing, it is a pleasure to be involved with the most famous race in the world, the John Smith's Grand National.
“This deal will give tremendous exposure for our brand and will allow us to further develop our totesport and totepool products whilst at the same time continuing our support of Aintree.”
Citroën supporting the Grand National for third year running
Citroën are delighted to be an official partner of the John Smith’s Grand National meeting again in 2008.
Having been involved with Aintree during the early 1990s, Citroën were delighted to return in 2006 as the official vehicle partner of the event.
The national and international scale of the three-day meeting, both on site and through the media, provides an excellent showcase for the company’s fast growing range of cars.
Citroën provide a 34-vehicle VIP transport service to the meeting, and Citroën are also the lead sponsor of Aintree’s Style Competition for racegoers. For 2008, Citroën will once again be putting up a car as a prize for the overall winner of the contest, which will be judged and presented on John Smith’s Grand National Day.
