Community Golf - working with local schools

Junior Golf Lessons at Aintree

In conjunction with the Sefton Council Playing For Success Scheme, English Golf Union and the Golf Foundation, the golf centre is providing a number of coaching sessions during the school summer holidays.  These lessons are available to pupils who attend Primary and Secondary Schools in the Sefton area.

We have arranged for a mini bus to collect children from a number of Children's Centres within the Sefton area.  They are All Saints, Spingwell Park, Litherland Moss and Hatton Hill.  The mini bus will transport the children to the golf centre, were they will have an hours golf lesson with our PGA Professional Scot Duffy.  Once the lesson has finished, the mini bus will then take the children back to the point from where they were collected.  Children are able to make their own way to the golf centre if they prefer.

The cost of this will be £4.00 per child per session, and includes an hours tuition, range balls and clubs and the transportation to and from the golf centre.

Please note that these lessons are only availble to pupils who attend a school within the area of Sefton.

Over the past couple of years, Aintree Golf Centre has been working very hard with the local schools and community groups in encouraging juniors into golf. We are registered with the Golf Foundation as a Community Links Centre, which involves working closely with local primary and secondary schools. Our professional, Scot Duffy regularly visits the local primary schools and gives instruction to the children using the Tri-Golf equipment. We then try and encourage children who are interested in golf to visit the Driving Range and develop their golf.
