Autumn & Winter Race Weekend's at Aintree Racecourse

Betfred Monet's Garden Old Roan Chase Day - Saturday 22nd October 2011

The jump season started with the most eagerly awaited race of the season, The Betfred Monet's Garden Old Roan Chase Day on Saturday 22nd October, the first quality 2mile 4furlong chase of the new jumps season. The question on everybody's lips, Which horse will equal Monet’s Garden’s three sequential  victories of this famous chase?

Run down of the race - ALBERTAS RUN and Tony McCoy had to work to beat outsider Pure Faith, who ran the race of his career to finish within a length of the winner. The pair left 2-5 favourite Master Minded, who put in a mixed round of jumping, a beaten horse at the last.

Matalan Freaky Family Funday - Sunday 23rd October 2011

Sunday 23rd October was Matalan Freaky Family Funday at Aintree Racecourse - a day of racing and free themed halloween entertainment for all ages!

Aintree started Autumn half-term with Freaky Family Fun where children could get up close to a pony and take a pony ride or groom one of the miniature Groovy Hooves ponies in the purpose built equestrian centre.

It's not the warmest time of year to be outdoors so we provided plenty of indoor activities to keep the kids entertained, including Halloween crafts and colouring, face painting and Halloween shows plus a fancy dress contest for all of the family. Outside, hair-raising spooky funfair rides were guarenteed to keep everyone warm.

Fun and excitement all season long at prestigious Aintree
