Totesport hoping for another strong pool performance on John Smith's Grand National Day

Lucinda Russell’s Silver By Nature and Irish National winner Bluesea Cracker are the two horses in the John Smith’s Grand National to have attracted the most support on  National morning with official betting partner totesport.

Spokesman George Primarolo said: “Despite the ground worries, Silver By Nature has been backed this morning but we’re top price [12/1 from 16/1]. Bluesea Cracker has also been backed and is now 22/1 [from 25/1]. Our offer of five places on the National has also been popular.

“We’re hoping for another very strong pool performance after the last five Grand Nationals in which at least 39 of the 40 horses have paid better on the Tote than on starting price. The Tote dividend for a win has beaten starting price on the last five winners.”

Primarolo added that all profits made from bets in the totepool on the John Smith’s Aintree Legends Chairity Race, which goes off at 1pm today, will go to the Bob Champion Cancer Trust.
