Simon Webbe to play Aintree Ladies' Night
Aintree Racecourse today confirmed that soul and R&B sensation, Simon Webbe, will complete the artist line up for the racecourse’s racing and music nights and will play to the crowds on Friday 15th May.
Making his first appearance at the Liverpool course, Simon Webbe rose to fame in the 1990’s with chart topping boyband, ‘Blue’. Since then, Simon has continued with his own successful solo career, producing five hit solo singles and selling more than 1 million copies of his first two albums, ‘Sanctuary’ and ‘Grace’.
Simon is sure to get the racing crowds in the summer party mood with his popular hits including, ‘Coming Around Again’, ‘No Worries’ and of course some classic ‘Blue’ hits.
The announcement of Simon Webbe completes Aintree’s entertainment line up for its summer meetings. The opening night of the series on Friday 8th May will be the racecourse’s first Irish music and legendary rock group, Status Quo will close the series with a fantastic full live set following racing on Friday 12th June.

Tickets for Aintree’s Irish Night and Simon Webb cost £16 if purchased in advance (deadlines apply, visit aintree.co.uk for details) or £19 on the evening. Tickets for Status Quo on Friday 12th June cost £19 if purchased in advance of Friday 29th May, £24 after this date and on the night.
Tickets allow access to all public areas, including all grandstands, including seats, as well as the viewing of the new parade ring and winner’s enclosure.

Friday 8th May – Irish Night – Ireland and racing have always been synonymous, so Irish Night at Aintree guarantees to be one of the most sociable and atmospheric on our calendar, with six fantastic races followed by a selection of live Irish bands playing some of the favourite classic hits - it’s the ideal way to get in the mood for the fun summer months ahead.
Advance tickets:
£16 if purchased on or before Friday 24th April, £19 thereafter or on the night. First race 6pm.
Friday 15th May – Simon Webb – Simon Webb will take to the stage in the Aintree Pavilion to play a full live set after racing.

Friday 12th June – Status Quo – The legendary group will play a full live set after racing on the closing night of Aintree’s summer series.

Gates open at 4pm each evening, with entertainment following racing starting at around 9pm. Admission gives access to all public areas and to the Aintree Pavilion following racing.
