Show Jumping event sees Olympic riders at home of Grand National
Aintree International Equestrian Centre today announced the schedule for its four day international show jumping event, which will feature Olympic riders taking to the challenging indoor jumps along with free family activities. The event, which takes place from Thursday 14th October to Sunday 17th October 2010, will be free for spectators to attend.
In a unique opportunity to watch high level show jumping, visitors will have the chance to watch up to 150 horses jumping throughout each day, whilst children can have their faces painted and groom the friendly adorable miniature ponies from Groovy Hooves and take part in free pony rides.
The show starts at 8.30am on each day and will run all day with grandstand seating and catering on hand in the Centre together with a range of trade stands available for shopping The fun culminates in a “Grand National” final on Sunday, where the top 50 horses from the four day event will compete to be the ultimate winner of a £2,000 prize.
Local show jumper Jo McGlory from Lydiate commented ahead of the show, “I’m really looking forward to coming to Aintree for what’s going to be a very exciting show jumping event. It’s an inspiring location and it’s going to be a great few days, not just for the riders but for the people watching too – it’s always special to watch this level of jumping and will be a great free family day out.”
No tickets are required for this free entry event and free car parking will be available at the racecourse. For more information, please go to www.aintreeequestriancentre.co.uk or call the Equestrian Centre on 0151 522 2949.
