JOHN SMITH'S GRAND NATIONAL PREVIEW QUOTES
Trainer Francois Doumen said that both his entries for the John Smith’s Grand National, L’Ami and his full brother Kelami, were "very well".
"L’Ami could probably do with the ground a little softer but it’s not a problem," he said. "If they don’t win, I will have to find another excuse."
The last French-trained horse to win the Grand National was Lutteur III in 1909. "It’s been a long time," said Doumen, "but if you don’t have a horse in the race you can’t win it."
