JOCKEYS' VIEWS ON THE GROUND

After the running of the first race, the John Smith’s Mildmay Novices’ Chase, the following jockeys gave their opinion as to the state of the ground:
 
Winning rider Ruby Walsh
"The ground is riding on the slow side of good today - it’s perfect."
 
Timmy Murphy
"It’s riding a bit dead, on the easy side of good but it’s perfect jumping ground."
 
Joe Tizzard
"It’s beautiful ground - a bit better than yesterday."
 
Robert Thornton
"The ground is riding slow and it’s a little bit dead."
 
Paddy Brennan
"I thought the ground rode beautifully."
 
Tony McCoy
"It’s good jumping ground out there today."
 
Colin Bolger
"I found the ground good, possibly on the quick side of good."
