It's True! Tony Hadley to play famous Liverpool racecourse.

Aintree Racecourse today confirmed that Spandau Ballet star Tony Hadley will headline the final night of its summer racing and music series on Friday 10th June.

 Pioneers of the 80s Romantic movement, Spandau Ballet formed in 1978 and had numerous chart topping singles and albums all over the world, some of the most memorable being the singles “Gold”, “Only When You Leave”, “Lifeline”, the epic “Through the Barricades” and of course the international number one “True”.

 Turning the page on Spandau Ballet (after they disbanded in 1990), Tony is now a solo artist in his own right who has spent the past twenty years entertaining audiences all over the world with his stunning rich voice, and will now be bringing the show to the home of the Grand National.

 This evening will feature seven exciting races followed by a live hour-long set by Tony, featuring all of his biggest and most well-known hits. The race night is the third and final fixture in Aintree’s spring racing calendar, completing a schedule that saw Liverpool songstress Rebecca Ferguson take to the stage after racing in May.

 Commenting on the fixture, Marketing & PR Manager, Emma Owen, said:  “We are delighted to have secured Tony Hadley to headline the final night in our summer racing and music series. It’s a real chance for people to get together and enjoy some top class racing followed by some excellent live music at the home of the Grand National. After this fixture, we won’t be racing again until the new jump season in October, so it really will be an unmissable night.’

 Tickets for all evenings can be purchased in advance by visiting www.aintree.co.uk or by calling 0844 579 3001.  Admission costs for adults, £20 if purchased up to 48 hours before the race evening (£23 after this time and on the night).  A premium grandstand badge is available within the Platinum County Lounge for £29 in advance (£33 from 48 hours before the meeting).  Restaurant hospitality is also available from just £55 person.
