A Service to Celebrate the Life of Ginger McCain Announced
A service to celebrate the life of Donald “Ginger” McCain will be held at 2.30pm on Tuesday, November 15 in Liverpool Cathedral, St James Mount, Liverpool, L1 7AZ.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
The McCain family would like to thank everyone for their wonderful tributes and messages, which have made a very tough time much easier and are overwhelmed by the kindness shown to them.
Ginger McCain died on September 19 at the age of 80 after a period of illness.
He trained Red Rum to win the Grand National a record three times - in 1973, 1974 and 1977.
He also saddled Red Rum to finish second in the Grand National in both 1975 and 1976.
His fourth Grand National success came through Amberleigh House in 2004, while his son Donald junior, who took over the training licence in 2006, sent out Ballabriggs to win the 2011 John Smith’s Grand National in April.
