Football and Freaky Family Fun at Aintree's autumn racing weekend
Liverpool’s big sporting weekend kicks off at Aintree Racecourse on Saturday 25th October, with a two-day racing weekend offering something for everyone. Saturday’s race day will feature Radio City’s Terrace Talk live at the racecourse, giving commentary on this bumper weekend of first-class Liverpool sport, whilst Sunday 26th October sees the return of Freaky Family Funday, where racing is teamed with a day of free Halloween themed family entertainment, offering a spooky Halloween treat for families. Admission for children is free for both racedays.
Saturday at Aintree will be a celebration of all things sporting in Liverpool as Radio City’s Terrace Talk is transmitted live from Aintree, featuring the Legend’s Poker Lounge, where racegoers will have the opportunity to watch football and racing legends play a one-off poker challenge whilst sharing their tips of the day and sporting insights. There will be also interviews with top trainers, as well as discussions about the weekend’s local matches, by Terrace Talk presenters Liam Blythe, Ian St John and Ian Snodin.
Sunday’s raceday promises a great day of racing plus a half-term treat for the children with lots of fantastic free Halloween themed activities happening all day long. Children will have the chance to meet the Wizard of Aintree and to make their own spooky Halloween costume in the Wizard of Aintree Craft Masterclass, which will also include face painting and balloon modelling. The children will then be able to join a fancy-dress parade and have the chance to win the Aintree fancy dress competition. Beetlejuice magic shows, the Creepy Crawley Corner and the haunted fairground will also feature to complete what promises to be a winning day out for all of the family.
Racegoers will have access to all public areas, including Aintree’s grandstands, on both days of the two-day race meeting, meaning racegoers can sample many unique vantage points.
