Countdown to the 'Event of the Year' starts as 2012 John Smith's Grand National

Aintree Racecourse today announced that tickets and hospitality for the 2012 John Smith’s Grand National will go on sale in just a month’s time. The prestigious race meeting, which recently won the Tourism Event of the Year Award at The Mersey Partnership Tourism Awards, returns to the famous Liverpool course from Thursday 12th to Saturday 14th April 2012.

Hospitality will be available to purchase online or by telephone (0151 522 2911) from Tuesday 2nd August. Season ticket customers and customers purchasing a minimum of a two-day grandstand ticket will also be available to purchase badges on this day by calling 0844 579 3001.

All remaining tickets and badges, including Tattersalls tickets, will go on general sale from 9am on Tuesday 16th August on aintree.co.uk, and from Wednesday 17th August by telephone, 0844 579 3001.

A record-number of racegoers attended the three-day meeting in 2011, with attendances up on each day and John Smith’s Grand National day itself being a record sell-out prior to the event.

Hospitality and ticket packages for 2012 will shortly be revealed on aintree.co.uk, and the racecourse encourages customers to sign up for email updates from Aintree’s home page for all the latest ticketing information. 

Aintree Racecourse Managing Director, Julian Thick, commented: ‘We’ve started planning for the biggest event of the year in the racing and social calendar, and so too have our most loyal racegoers.  As experienced in previous years, we expect all packages to be in great demand and therefore continue to advise customers to purchase early to avoid disappointment.’
