11.06.12 - RACING AT AINTREE
A Sports Spectacular announced for Aintree's Season Closer
Aintree Racecourse opens its doors again this Friday for its final race meeting of the summer, with 7 races, in addition to live big screen action of England’s second Euro 2012 game versus Sweden.
In celebration of this great sporting contest, Aintree is turning its famous Red Rum Garden into a football fan zone for the evening with big screen viewing of the game and following the recent Jubilee celebrations, racegoers are encouraged to retain their patriotic spirit and wear their England shirts with pride. As sported at the Investec Epsom Derby a week ago, Ladies are encouraged to adorn red and white in support of our team.
The race evening is the second and final fixture in Aintree’s Spring/Summer racing calendar and is the final time the home of the famous Grand National races until October. Last month, racegoers enjoyed Ladies’ Night with The Real Thing.
Commenting on this final fixture of the summer, Marketing and PR Manager, Emma Owen, said: ‘It’s a great opportunity for people to enjoy two of our nation’s greatest sports in one place, horseracing and football. Following this fixture, we won’t race again until the new jump season in October, so it really is a great opportunity to enjoy racing at the home of one of racing’s biggest events.’
Advance tickets for the evening costs just £12 if purchase up to 48 hours before, £16 after and on the night and can be purchased by visiting www.aintree.co.uk or by calling 0844 579 3001. Tickets for Aintree’s premium over-21’s facility are also available. Tickets for Platinum County Lounge cost £20 if purchased in advance (£23 from 48 hours before the meeting). Restaurant dining is also available from just £57 per person. Accompanied Children aged 17 and under go free.
